About the Nebraska Excavation Safety Summit
Each February, over 1,500+ excavators, underground utility-focused contractors, and other damage prevention stakeholders gather at the Sandhills Global Event Center in Lincoln for a FREE educational event focused on the common goal of damage prevention and safe digging.

Excavator & Locator of the Year Awards
The Excavator and Locator of the Year Awards recognize Nebraska’s best damage prevention partners. Each year at the summit, one excavator and one locating technician will be presented with a plaque, embroidered jacket, and $150 gift card in recognition of their above and beyond efforts. Summit committee members, one call board members, and Nebraska industry representatives select the winners from the nominations received.

Excavator Rodeo
Show off your safety equipment skills using a mini excavator in equipment skills competition at our highly anticipated Excavator Rodeo! Prizes are awarded for the best scores. To participate/compete in the Excavator Rodeo, head to the rodeo area on the day of the event to sign up for a time slot.
